so i try to play final fantasy on pcsx2 and every time i get to a certain loading screen the game wont load. you just hear sound. if you've ever played ffx, the loading screen is after the cutscene in kilika when yuna performs the sending.

Not that bad,try using the preset setting and set it to the safest.It worked for me in GTA VCS,i can't get past the starting sequence,but now it works.
Thats good,after you enter into the game go and disable the preset setting and use the one you were using before.If the game crashes play the game with the same preset for a while then change to the custom settings.

Sorry for late reply,anyway your laptop is not that much enough for pcsx2,but you can try it and i'm sure you can run some games at good speed,but don't try very graphically intensive game.And i recommend you to upgrade to windows7 if possible.

You must be having intel gma 950 i guess,it doesn't that well.But i'll run around 30fps and check whether you have my settings correctly and close all the unwanted program while trying.

Your pc is weak,just go to the graphic plugin and uncheck native and give a low resolution like 512x512.And makesure you use speedhacks and try lowering or unchecking some(it might help sometimes.And use skip 1or2 frames nothing more.
I think you don't have an external graphic card,anyway i too have a intel hd 2000 and it works great with ps2 in many games.Now first go to the graphic plugin and uncheck the native box and give a lower resolution of about 512x512(and the lowest is 256x256).And makesure you use all the speed hacks and also follow the steps in the video.And if you can buy a cheap external graphic card.And increase your RAM to 4gb.

I'm using Speed Hacks EE Cyclerate is 3 ,VU Cycle Stealing is 2 I'm Using Gsdx on DirectX 11 in Native Resolution I ticked Allow 8 bit Textures. But in DirectX 9 Everything gets worse.
Go to your graphic plugin and select the native box. And go to the emulation settings and in speed hacks enable all the recommended hacks. And in my opinion you could play these games without any problem with these specs.

You have a GMA 4500MHD graphic card and you must know that it is a weak one and it can't run PCSX2 smoothly.Anyway try lowering the resolution in the graphic plugin and try using speedhacks.

That processor is weak,get one with a better processor.And also try to get a laptop with a Nvidia or ATI graphic card,Intel graphics are not good for intense gaming.

It might be because of your PC specs,anyway,go to Config->Emulation settings->GS and type in 1 in both box under frameskipping and choose constant skipping.

Your CPU is really weak to handle PCSX2,i won't recommend you to play on it.BTW what is your graphic card?,i can't find what integrated graphics you have.
I try to run GTA:VCS on Intel i5-480m, GeForce GT 540M, 4GB of RAM and on Lubuntu 12.10 with pcsx2 1.1.0 and it's kinda crappy. I see guys on YT playing this game rly nice, smooth etc... I dunno why, any ideas, plz? ;)
Thx a lot. The problem is... There's no DirectX on Linux. ;) I have to run it under OpenGL and when i do it (OpenGL Hardware) i see only red and black pixels. OpenGL Software looks ok, but it's very slow. :/
Your PC is really too weak for PCSX2 and i think it has GMA 950 graphics.So don't expect much from it,however I would suggest you use frameskipping and lower your resolution in the graphic plugin.

It is a really bad integrated graphics and neither is the processor. PCSX2 run smoothly on this PC,however if you're desperate to play the PS2 games you can give it a try.

I got Persona 3 FES and 4 I've been trying to get them to run but the fps drops at the opening song but on my older laptop it never dropped on the opening song. Since the fps is dropping right there I've been trying to fix it with no luck. I haven't tried to see if there are anywhere else where the fps is dropping cuz i think the opening shouldn't slow it down that much

I guess you laptop isn't powerful enough to run the game,however you can try using Frameskipping in the GS options.Set the frames to skip to 1 and draw to 1.

I tried changing the plugin but none of them work they all give me this message and i did check that my drivers were indeed updated

Go to emualtion settings->GS->select constant skipping and enter 1 on both the boxes on the right,this might solve the problem.

i have tried it in pcsx2 (1.0.0) with the default settings.i have also tried the settings you mentioned in this video(http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=z4A2W2av9o0).but it didnt help.could u help me with this.

That processor is weak,get one with a better processor.And also try to get a laptop with a Nvidia or ATI graphic card,Intel graphics are not good for intense gaming.

It might be because of your PC specs,anyway,go to Config->Emulation settings->GS and type in 1 in both box under frameskipping and choose constant skipping.

Your CPU is really weak to handle PCSX2,i won't recommend you to play on it.BTW what is your graphic card?,i can't find what integrated graphics you have.

DeleteThx a lot. The problem is... There's no DirectX on Linux. ;) I have to run it under OpenGL and when i do it (OpenGL Hardware) i see only red and black pixels. OpenGL Software looks ok, but it's very slow. :/

Your PC is really too weak for PCSX2 and i think it has GMA 950 graphics.So don't expect much from it,however I would suggest you use frameskipping and lower your resolution in the graphic plugin.

It is a really bad integrated graphics and neither is the processor. PCSX2 run smoothly on this PC,however if you're desperate to play the PS2 games you can give it a try.

ReplyDeleteHello! I got my FFX run in pcsx2 1.0. I am satisfied with my game speed because I know it would be impossible to achieve a 100% fps speed. But my problem is when every time I am at the MENU (items, sphere grid, aeons, etc) the fps drastically drops to heinous speeds. What may be the problem?

DeleteI got Persona 3 FES and 4 I've been trying to get them to run but the fps drops at the opening song but on my older laptop it never dropped on the opening song. Since the fps is dropping right there I've been trying to fix it with no luck. I haven't tried to see if there are anywhere else where the fps is dropping cuz i think the opening shouldn't slow it down that much

Also the hard drive I have in it is not the original one cause the previous one fried.
I guess you laptop isn't powerful enough to run the game,however you can try using Frameskipping in the GS options.Set the frames to skip to 1 and draw to 1.
